Kabul: Bike handover, briefing, permits check and expedition preparation.

Nuristan: Explore one of Afghanistan’s most dramatic mountain regions, with remote villages, steep roads and rugged terrain.
Panjshir Valley: Ride through one of Afghanistan’s most scenic valleys with a buffer/rest day for bike checks and route flexibility.
Ghorband Corridor: Continue toward central Afghanistan through mountain passages and mixed road conditions.
Bamyan: Reach Afghanistan’s central highlands and the historic Bamyan Valley.
Band-e-Amir: Ride to Afghanistan’s famous blue lakes and enjoy one of the country’s most iconic landscapes.
ATE Rides Support: Motorcycle rental, expedition support, route management and local coordination throughout the journey.
Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Kabul
Airport pickup, hotel check-in and rest. Rider briefing, permit check, motorcycle setup and a short test ride if time allows. Overnight in Kabul.
Day 2 - Kabul to Jalalabad and Kunar
Begin the eastern ride from Kabul toward Jalalabad and onward to Kunar. The route introduces riders to changing terrain, warmer valleys and mixed-surface riding. Overnight in Kunar in a guesthouse or local hotel.
Day 3 - Kunar toward Nuristan
Ride from Kunar toward Nuristan, climbing into remote mountain terrain. Expect narrow roads, rough surfaces and more technical sections as the expedition moves away from main routes. Overnight en route or near Nuristan, with camping or basic accommodation depending on conditions.
Day 4 - Nuristan Full Riding Day
A full adventure riding day in Nuristan. Ride through steep climbs, cliff roads, dirt and gravel tracks, remote villages and deep valleys. This is one of the most technical and scenic days of the expedition. Overnight in Nuristan, camping or basic local accommodation depending on conditions.
Day 5 - Nuristan to Panjshir
Leave Nuristan and ride west toward Panjshir. This is a long and challenging day with changing terrain, route transitions and expedition-style riding. Overnight in the Panjshir area, camping or basic local accommodation depending on arrangements.
Day 6 - Panjshir Exploration / Buffer Day
Explore Panjshir Valley and surrounding areas. This day also works as a rest, bike-check and contingency day in case road, weather or mechanical conditions require adjustment. Overnight in Panjshir.
Day 7 - Panjshir to Ghorband / Toward Bamyan
Ride through the Ghorband corridor toward the central highlands. The day includes a combination of open roads, rough sections and mountain scenery. Overnight in Ghorband or Bamyan area depending on road timing and conditions.
Day 8 - Bamyan to Band-e-Amir Day Ride
Ride from Bamyan to Band-e-Amir National Park, Afghanistan’s famous sapphire-blue lakes. Enjoy open terrain, dramatic landscapes and photography stops. Return to Bamyan, or stay near Band-e-Amir if conditions and arrangements allow. Overnight in Bamyan or Band-e-Amir area.
Day 9 - Bamyan to Kabul
Final long ride from Bamyan back to Kabul. Regroup, return bikes, pack and rest after the expedition. Overnight in Kabul.
Day 10 - Departure from Kabul
Airport transfer to Kabul International Airport based on departure flight time. End of ATE Rides services.
Important Itinerary Note
Motorcycle expeditions in Afghanistan require flexibility. The route, accommodation, overnight locations and riding distances may change due to weather, road conditions, permits, local regulations, mechanical issues or safety considerations. ATE Rides will adjust the program when needed while keeping the core expedition experience as close as possible to the planned route.
